UP identifies 3.37 lakh TB patients in 6 months
LUCKNOW, July 18 -- In the first six months of 2026, Uttar Pradesh identified around 3.37 lakh TB patients and initiated their treatment, achieving 48% of the set annual target, said a press statement issued by the health department on Friday. Of them, 2,24,665 patients were identified through government health institutions, while 1,12,303 were identified through private practitioners, according to the department. The state has set a target to identify seven lakh TB patients this year. During a review of the 'TB-Mukt Bharat' campaign on Friday, Amit Kumar Ghosh, additional chief secretary (medical & health), instructed all health officials and staff to conduct the campaign with utmost seriousness and commitment.He said all districts must work with greater proactivity to ensure 100% achievement of the target in the remaining six months. htc...
