UP govt plans AI-based analysisof school inspection reports
PRAYAGRAJ, May 18 -- The Uttar Pradesh government is considering the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to analyse deficiencies detected during inspections of more than 1.25 lakh state-run primary (Classes 1 to 5), upper primary (Classes 6 to 8) and composite (Classes 1 to 8) schools across.
Officials said inspection reports uploaded on the Prerna portal after school visits could soon be analysed using AI tools to identify recurring issues and suggest faster and more logical corrective measures. Officials were also instructed to ensure that deficiencies identified during inspections are rectified promptly and action is initiated against responsible school staff wherever required.
In another directive aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability, officials were asked to send SMS alerts to parents regarding funds transferred to students through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The government has also decided to further refine and promote the Vidyanjali Kayakalp portal to simplify the process of financial and non-financial contributions by members of the public towards schools.
Meanwhile, nearly 3 lakh students of Classes 11 and 12 studying in government-run, government-aided and unaided secondary schools across UP have registered for an online AI awareness programme, organised by Maharana Pratap Institute of Technology, Gorakhpur, in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, Gorakhpur.
