UP DGP, SSB IG discuss strengthening Indo-Nepal border security
LUCKNOW, July 24 -- Uttar Pradesh director general of police (DGP) Rajeev Krishna on Thursday held a meeting with Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) inspector general Meenu Choudhary at the state police headquarters, where the two sides discussed measures to strengthen coordination for securing the Indo-Nepal border.
During the courtesy meeting, the DGP and the SSB IG deliberated on a joint strategy to enhance security along the Uttar Pradesh-Nepal border through intensified patrolling, checking and coordinated operational efforts.
They also discussed issues of strategic importance concerning border management and inter-agency cooperation.
The meeting focused on improving synergy between the Uttar Pradesh Police and the SSB to ensure an effective security grid along the international border, which is considered sensitive due to concerns related to cross-border crime, smuggling and illegal movement.
