UP Congress chief hits out at BJP's 12 years at Centre
LUCKNOW, June 11 -- Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai has criticised the BJP's track record during its 12 years in power at the Centre. In a statement issued on Wednesday, he said even as the BJP is celebrating '12 Unparalleled Years' of the central government across the country, India slipped from being the fourth-largest economy to the sixth. "Indeed unparalleled, when 80 crore citizens, including 16 crore people from Uttar Pradesh, are forced to stand in queues to receive 5 kg of ration. Unparalleled for the fact that India's ranking in the Global Hunger Index is getting poor while our economy is on a downward trajectory," Rai added in the statement.
He also criticised India's foreign policy, saying it has weakened in the past 12 years.
He claimed the education and examination system was plagued by over 90 paper leaks nationwide, including two dozen in UP, during this period. htc...
