PRAYAGRAJ, Jan. 25 -- The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) has introduced a new system for uploading marks of Class 12 practical examinations to reduce errors and improve accuracy. Under the new system, examiners will have to upload practical marks twice through a mobile application. The move aims to prevent mistakes and ensure transparency in the evaluation process. Practical examinations for students appearing in the UP Board Intermediate Examination 2026 began on Saturday. UP Board secretary Bhagwati Singh said that the facility to upload practical marks through a mobile app was started last year. Based on last year's experience, the system has now been improved to make it more reliable, he said. Last year, since the system was new, examiners were asked to submit marks both online and offline. This was done to avoid loss of data in case of technical problems. This year, examiners have been directed to upload marks only online. To prevent irregularities, the marks will now be entered twice. Using the app, examiners can upload marks for up to 80 students from their allotted group. After entering the marks once, the system opens again for re-entry of the same marks. If there is any difference between the two entries, both will be shown on the screen. The examiner will then be asked to correct the mistake. The system will not accept incorrect submissions. Vishwanath Mishra, a computer teacher at Shivcharandas Kanhaiyalal Inter College, said that the app checks the examiner's geo-location at the examination centre. Permission to conduct the practical examination is given only if the current location matches the registered location within the allowed distance. Examiners can submit complaints or suggestions related to practical examinations only through online mode. They must log in to the Board's website (https://upmsp.edu.in) using their user ID and password....
