UP Assembly, Japan's Yamanashi Assembly sign MoU
LUCKNOW, Aug. 22 -- The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and the Yamanashi Prefectural Assembly of Japan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday to promote friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two legislatures.
During a meeting with Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, the Japanese delegation, led by Yamanashi Assembly Speaker Hidenori Miyamoto, discussed legislative functioning, democratic institutions and ways to strengthen relations between the two assemblies.
The MoU is not legally binding but provides a framework for closer cooperation, in line with an agreement signed between the two governments on December 23, 2024.
The delegation also toured the Vidhan Bhavan and learnt about the proceedings of the House, legislative processes and the Assembly's functioning. Miyamoto invited Mahana to visit Yamanashi.
The agreement will encourage exchanges in areas of mutual interest, including the economy, tourism, agriculture, education and human resource development. HTC...
