Lucknow, July 7 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the allocation of free land for constructing two 100-bed hospitals in Gorakhpur and Moradabad, and an Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College in Varanasi to improve healthcare facilities for workers. The move includes the allocation of free land for ESIC hospitals in Gorakhpur and Moradabad and the medical college in Varanasi. Labour and employment minister Anil Rajbhar said the proposal for land allocation has been approved. 50% of MBBS seats at the upgraded ESIC Medical College in Varanasi will be reserved for workers' children. Of the remaining seats, 18% will be filled through the state government's quota, while 7% will be allotted by the central government. He added, under the plan, five acres of land each will be provided in Gorakhpur and Moradabad for the hospitals, while 13 acres will be allotted in Varanasi for the upgraded ESIC Medical College.
