LUCKNOW, April 24 -- Uttar Pradesh Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested a wanted and active drug trafficker and seized contraband and adulterants worth an estimated Rs.1 crore, officials said. The accused, identified as Shakeel Mansoori (46), a resident of Pipalyakulmi village under Machalpur police station in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district, was apprehended on Thursday. He was wanted in a case registered on April 8 at Jirapur police station under the NDPS Act. The ANTF Jhansi unit conducted the operation and recovered 298 grams of smack along with 5.496 kilograms of a chemical powder (locally called 'taka') used to increase the quantity of the narcotic. A Vivo mobile phone and Rs.475 in cash were also seized from his possession. During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to sourcing small quantities of smack and adulterants, preparing the mixture, and distributing it through associates across districts in UP and Rajasthan. He also revealed that additional stock is kept at his residence.
