LUCKNOW, June 15 -- Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman Manvendra Singh on Sunday stressed the need for social unity, saying a society can become strong and successful only when all sections move forward together. Speaking at the Haldighati-Diverghati Vijayotsav and felicitation ceremony organised by the UP Kshatriya Lok Sevak Parivar Mahasamiti in Gomti Nagar, Singh said growing dependence on mobile screens had widened social distances and people must reconnect with their roots. Minister of State (Independent Charge) JPS Rathore said Kshatriyas had traditionally worked for the welfare of society and alleged that historians had failed to give due recognition to Maharana Pratap's contributions. Mahasamiti president Baba Hardev Singh called for collective efforts for community upliftment. Former Child Rights Protection Commission chairperson Juhi Singh stressed the importance of supporting students, while Indo-American Chamber of Commerce chairman Mukesh Singh assured assistance to youths pursuing higher education and entrepreneurship.
