Union min Hardeep Puri opens Vipassana Park at Kapilvastu
LUCKNOW, Aug. 2 -- Union minister for petroleum and natural gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, inaugurated the 'Vipassana Park and Light and Sound Show' at the Buddha Vipassana Centre in Kapilvastu (Piprahwa) on Saturday.
The centre is located near the India-Nepal border in the Siddharthnagar district.
The primary objective of this project is to preserve the historical and cultural significance of Kapilvastu, give a new direction to tourism in the area, and connect devotees and tourists with Lord Buddha's eternal messages of peace, compassion, and Vipassana through modern technology, a statement read.
A special event was organised at the auditorium of Siddharth University, Kapilvastu, as part of the inauguration ceremony.
There, a grand presentation based on Lord Buddha's life philosophy, renunciation, and teachings was showcased through digital visuals and a state-of-the-art light and sound show.
Local public representatives and administrative officials accorded a warm welcome to the visiting Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
