GORAKHPUR, July 19 -- A 27-year-old undertrial from Kushinagar allegedly died by suicide inside the Gorakhpur district jail after hanging himself with a towel in barrack no. 24, officials said on Saturday. The inmate had been arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) in connection with a theft case and was sent to judicial custody in June this year. According to jail authorities, the prisoner's body was found hanging inside the barrack during routine surveillance. Jail staff brought him down and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. "The inmate was found hanging inside the barrack.
