Udham Singh Nagar district administration cancels SC certificate of man who converted to Christianity
Haldwani, July 5 -- The Udham Singh Nagar district administration has cancelled the Scheduled Caste (SC) certificate of a man after an inquiry found that he had voluntarily converted to Christianity in Gadarpur, officials said on Saturday.
Additional district magistrate (ADM) Pankaj Upadhyay said the action followed a complaint filed by Arvind Saini, a resident of Majarshila village in Gadarpur tehsil. Saini alleged that a local resident, Surendra Sagar, was allegedly building a church in the village illegally and converting local residents to Christianity.
