U.P. govt, IIT-G to supply science kits to transform govt schools
LUCKNOW, May 17 -- The UP government has collaborated with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar to supply 9,356 science kits across 38 districts of the state, ensuring that students in primary and upper primary government schools receive modern, practical and experiment-based science education.
This initiative aims to provide children from villages and poor families the same quality of laboratory-based science education that was previously confined to major private schools and selected institutions, said a spokesperson.
The kits have already been supplied to 38 districts. Detailed distribution figures include Gonda-370 science kits, Shahjahanpur- 366, Agra- 357, Unnao- 338, Bulandshahr- 314, and Aligarh- 301. Larger supplies were sent to Lakhimpur Kheri- 464 kits and Sitapur- 469 kits.
This initiative intensifies the state government's ongoing modernisation efforts, which include campaigns such as Mission Prerna, NIPUN Bharat Mission, School Kayakalp, Smart Class and Digital Monitoring.
