U.P. bags hosting rights for eight National School Games competitions
PRAYAGRAJ, July 5 -- Uttar Pradesh has secured the hosting rights for eight National School Games competitions during the 2026-27 session from the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), marking the first time the state will host such a large number of national-level school sporting events.
SGFI executive committee member and UP Board secretary Bhagwati Singh said the federation organises 266 national-level competitions across 44 sports disciplines in different age categories. The eight events allotted to Uttar Pradesh will be held between November 2026 and January 2027.
Prayagraj will host the Under-19 boys' and girls' volleyball championships, while Bareilly has been selected to organise the Under-17 boys' and girls' badminton competitions. Ballia will stage the Under-17 boys' football championship, Bhagwati Singh said....
