LUCKNOW, Oct. 7 -- The Uttar Pradesh Excise Department registered 59,530 cases and seized 16.18 lakh litres of illicit alcohol and intoxicants in April-September 2026-27 . Excise minister Nitin Agarwal attributed this to the Chief Minister's zero-tolerance policy. He said stringent enforcement and technological surveillance improved revenue and control of illegal liquor. The department collected Rs.29,406.50 crore, up 12.46% (Rs.3,257.18 crore) from Rs.26,149.32 crore last year.
