Haridwar, Sept. 19 -- Additional Director General of Police (Crime and Law & Order) V Murugesan on Friday reviewed security arrangements for the upcoming Ardh Kumbh Mela 2027 in Haridwar, officials said. Senior police officers presented details of preparations so far and the action plan for the mega religious event. The review covered several key aspects including security, traffic management, crowd control, disaster management and emergency preparedness. Officers also discussed communication systems, the use of digital technologies and the phased deployment of security forces during the event. Murugesan stressed the need for effective coordination with concerned departments and neighbouring districts. Addressing officers after the discussions, Murugesan said the Kumbh Mela is the "world's largest event from a religious and spiritual perspective".
