Haridwar, May 23 -- Search operations continued on Friday to trace two men from Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh who drowned in the Ganga river near Rishikesh while allegedly clicking photographs at a prohibited riverside spot, police said. According to officials, four men had arrived in Rishikesh for sightseeing on Thursday. In the evening, they went near a prohibited riverside location known as Double-Triple Beach in the Rishikesh area. Police said Mohammed Kaif (19) and Mohammad Faizan (25), lost balance while posing for photographs on slippery stones in the riverbed and were swept away into the strong current of the Ganga. In a separate incident in Haridwar, a 14-year-old boy was swept away in the Ganga canal near Bahadarabad on Friday, prompting a joint search operation by Jal Police and SDRF teams. Police identified the boy as Sachin Awasthi, a native of Pandey Sarai in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh, currently residing near Shiv temple in Rawli Mahdood village of Bahadarabad area. "Immediately after receiving information about the teenager slipping into the Ganga canal, Jal Police and SDRF teams were rushed to the spot for a joint rescue operation. Pilgrims, tourists and local residents are also being sensitised about adhering to safety norms and preventive measures while bathing or visiting riverbanks and ghats," said Bahadarabad police station sub-inspector Praveen Bisht....
