Two killed after DJ vehicle touches high-tension power line
Lucknow, Aug. 4 -- Two young men were electrocuted and four others suffered burn injuries after a DJ vehicle carrying a team promoting the Kanwar Yatra came into contact with a high-tension overhead power line in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district on Monday morning, police said.
The incident took place at around 8.30 am near Rajapur village under the Thangaon police station area. The team was travelling to spread awareness about the annual Kanwar Yatra.
According to police, Guddu Yadav, a resident of Cheddapurwa village, and Santosh Yadav, a resident of Dhaura village, were sitting on the roof of the DJ vehicle when it touched an overhead high-tension electricity line. The contact allowed electric current to pass through the vehicle, electrocuting those sitting on top.
Guddu Yadav and Santosh Yadav died at the scene. Four other young men suffered serious burn injuries in the incident. With the help of local residents, police rushed the injured to the Reusa Community Health Centre, where they are undergoing treatment....
