Two held for stealing tree guards
LUCKNOW, June 21 -- A joint operation by the forest department and Lucknow police led to the arrest of two men accused of stealing iron tree guards installed to protect roadside saplings, officials said on Saturday. The accused were caught with 10 stolen tree guards. However, police suspect a larger racket. Mahanagar SHO Akhilesh Mishra said the case came to light after forest guard Yogesh Kumar and his team apprehended the suspects on Friday. A case was registered against Sanju Kashyap, 45, and Pawan Kashyap, 32. Police said probe revealed that 28 tree guards had already been disposed of.
