Two die in Etah after consuming country-made liquor
Agra, May 29 -- Two people died and one other fell ill after consuming liquor in a village of Etah district on Thursday. The family members have alleged foul play raising apprehensions of the deceased being poisoned. Police have recovered the liquor tetra packs and the viscera of the deceased has been sent for forensic tests.
Arvind Singh, district magistrate, Etah, stated that information was received about the death of two at Awagarh Kotwali police station and police reached the spot and sent the bodies for a post-mortem examination.
"Senior officials are keeping an eye on the issue and all evidence is being gathered. There are many dimensions to this incident thus detailed investigation is on. One has survived and his statement is being recorded and questions are to be asked after he recovers," Singh said.
He admitted that family members of the deceased have alleged foul play thus the case will be registered based on their complaints.
Those dead were identified as Rakesh, 50, and Narsingh Pal, 57, and were accompanied by Rakesh when they consumed country liquor on Thursday at an under construction plot in the village. htc...
