AGRA, Aug. 9 -- Two suspects were arrested following an encounter with police for the alleged murder of a 20-year-old student in Mathura. The victim, identified as Vipin, was reportedly in a relationship with the wife of one of the accused, who is already in police custody. On Friday night, police intercepted a car without a registration plate on the Goverdhan-Chhata road. During the resulting exchange of fire, two suspects, identified as Vikram, 27, and Aman, 22, suffered leg injuries and were hospitalised in police custody. A third suspect, identified as Tejpal, managed to escape. Police recovered the weapon used in the crime along with the vehicle involved in the incident. According to Suresh Chandra Rawat, SP (rural), Mathura, the victim Vipin had been in contact with the woman via social media, a relationship the woman's husband strongly objected to. Unable to resolve the conflict, the husband and his associates allegedly conspired to kill the student. The incident surfaced on August 4, when the victim's father filed a complaint at the Chhata police station after his son failed to return from college. On August 5, police found Vipin's body with a slit throat in a dilapidated structure within a forest under the jurisdiction of the Jaint police station.
