Two arrested for death of youth at Azamgarh wedding
VARANASI, May 3 -- Four days after a 26-year-old youth was beaten to death during a marriage ceremony in Indiranagar area of Azamatgarh, under Jiyanpur police station area of Azamgarh district, police arrested two individuals, and also recovered the weapons used in the crime.
Station in-charge Vinay Kumar Singh arrested two accused - Rambhajan Nishad and Rammilan Nishad. Both are residents of Indiranagar, Azmatgarh. They were apprehended at the Razadepur intersection during the wee hours of Saturday. Based on the information provided by the accused, two knives, two sticks, and one iron rod-all of which were used in the incident-were recovered, said police. A police officer said that Rajesh Nishad, a resident of Village Belasadi of Gorakhpur district, filed a complaint at police station Jiyanpur in Azamgargh, informing that a dispute arose during the Jaimaal ceremony over the placement of an air cooler at marriage venue in Azmatgarh area. As the dispute escalated, the named accused-including Kamlesh Nishad, Mahesh Nishad, Rambhajan Nishad, and Rammilan Nishad-along with others, launched a life-threatening assault on members of his side, using sticks, iron rods, and knives, resulting in serious injuries to several individuals. In connection with this incident, a case under Sections 191(2), 191(3), 190, 115(2), 118(1), 109, and 103 of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) was registered at Jiyanpur police station area, police said. Senior superintendent of police Anil Kumar said that based on the recovery of rods and knives, Section 4/25 of the Arms Act has been added to the case....
