Two, including constable, nabbed with 20kg ganja; case registered
Agra, May 15 -- Two persons, including a constable with UP 112 dial service, were arrested by Mahawan police in Mathura with 20 kilograms of prohibited 'gaanja' (cannabis sativa) and Rs 2 lakh cash. The constable was suspended by SSP Mathura and a departmental probe was ordered against him. A case has been registered in the matter.
SP rural, Suresh Chandra Rawat stated that in compliance with the ongoing campaign against prohibited drugs and criminals involved, police at Mahawan police station in Mathura nabbed an accused identified as Pushpendra (35) from whom 20 kilograms of prohibited 'gaanja' beside Rs 2 lakh cash was recovered.
"A constable named Anil Kumar (40) deployed at UP 112 Dial service in Mathura was also found involved. His mobile's inspection revealed that he was in constant contact with drug peddler Pushpendra. The constable was also arrested," stated SP Rural at Mathura. "SSP Mathura Shlok Kumar suspended the constable and departmental probe has been ordered against him," added Rawat....
