Trust unable to give info, claims ADM's letter
Ayodhya, June 25 -- A letter from Ayodhya's additional district magistrate (law and order) Indrakant Dwivedi claims that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust cited the ongoing SIT probe and was unable to furnish the required information when it was asked for details of the Trust's income, expenditure, donations, bank accounts, land transactions and assets from its inception to date. The ADM contacted the Trust after the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) forwarded a BJP leader's complaint.
This claim was made in Dwivedi's June 23 letter written to ADM (administration) Vishu Raja. The letter adds that when he sought details, the Trust informed him the SIT probe was under way and all information was being collected by SIT. HT has seen a copy of the letter.
In the letter, ADM Dwivedi said getting the information regarding the complaint is not possible.
"Please refer to the letter on the above subject by Dr. Rajnish Singh dated 12.06.2026, addressed to the Hon'ble Prime Minister, having online complaint reference number 60000260154331. In this regard, discussions were held with the secretary, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Ayodhya, and a request was made for the desired information. In view of the above, it was informed that an S.I.T. (Special Investigation Team) probe is currently underway. All information is to be compiled by them. It is not possible to obtain any information from the Trust at this level. Therefore, please take note accordingly and kindly dispose of/close the matter," the letter said.
Rajneesh Singh, an Ayodhya-based BJP leader, filed the complaint with the PMO on June 12, requesting orders for the Ram temple trust to make public the complete details regarding all income, expenditure, donations, bank accounts, land transactions (purchase and sale), and assets of the Trust from its inception to date.
Singh's complaint was forwarded to the Ayodhya district administration through complaint reference number 60000260154331 from the PMO earlier this week.
In his complaint, Singh wrote that crores of devotees from India and abroad have dedicated a portion of their devotion, faith, and lifetime earnings toward the construction of the Ram temple.
"This money does not belong to any individual, group, or organization, but is a symbol of the faith of crores of devotees of Lord Ram.
In such a situation, every devotee has the moral and democratic right to know how the money, ornaments, and other donations dedicated by them have been used," Singh said in the complaint.
He requested that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust be directed to make public on its official website the following complete details from the time of its establishment to date:
1. Details of all funds and receipts received through the Samarpan Nidhi campaign.
2. Details of all donations received from donation boxes, online means, cheques, cash, and other sources.
3. Details of donations received in the form of gold, silver, ornaments, and other valuable items, and their current accounting.
4. Complete bank statements of all bank accounts of the Trust from its establishment to date and details of financial transactions.
