LUCKNOW, June 1 -- Chowk police on Saturday arrested three men for allegedly blackmailing a man and demanding Rs 51 lakh by threatening to make an obscene video viral, officials said in a press release. The officials said that the accused had reportedly lured the victim into a trap, recorded him in a compromising position and later used the footage to extort money. The officials said that the accused Ritesh Verma, 38, from Chowk; Mohd Mursal alias Musa, 28, an AC mechanic from Thakurganj; and Faiz, 29, a lawn parking operator from Campwell Road, were nabbed near Chowk Stadium around 2 pm, the press release stated. The police said the complainant had approached them on May 12 and alleged that a woman called him to a parking lot on February 11 and, with the help of some men, recorded a video of him engaged in obscene acts. The group initially extorted Rs 10,000 from him on the pretext of deleting the video. However, from the following day, the complainant and his family began receiving threats on social media platform (WhatsApp), demanding Rs 51 lakh to prevent the video from being made viral....
