Traders block road over LPG shortage
Lucknow, March 23 -- Traders in Jankipuram staged a road blockade on Sunday, protesting delays in commercial LPG supply. Carrying empty cylinders, they disrupted traffic, alleging that supplies had not reached homes and businesses for nearly a week.
Police intervened and cleared the jam after talks with protesters led by traders' body president Sunil Pandey.
Industry representatives said delivery staff are working extended hours under heavy demand and urged consumers to share booking details for resolution.
Officials, however, said the situation is easing. Indian Oil's Sanjay Bhandari noted bookings have dropped sharply, while over 7.25 lakh cylinders were delivered on Saturday. ADM (Civil Supplies) Jyoti Gautam said supply is being closely monitored....
