Thrilling ties continue to mark ITF M100
LUCKNOW, March 30 -- The International Tennis Federation Masters 100 Tennis Tournament commenced in a magnificent and professional manner at the Vijayant Khand Stadium on Sunday where players delivered stellar performances, winning several one-sided matches.
Vijay Sinha defeated Rajesh Singh 7-5, 6-4, Alok Bhatnagar defeated Jay Mishra 6-2, 6-3, Govind Prasad Maurya defeated Sudhanshu Agarwal 6-1, 6-1 and Vishwas Verma defeated Rajesh Sahay 6-0, 6-0.
In other matches of the day, Ajit Kumar Dubey beat Piyush Kumar Kusumwal 6-1, 6-0, Rajiv Dixit beat Anindya Sengupta 6-1, 6-2 and Nirbhay Singh Son beat Sonu Kishore 6-0, 6-0. Silas Minz received a walkover against Anuj Saxena, Manoj Kumar Madan beat Sudhir Kumar Pandey 6-0, 3-0, Suraj Kashyap beat Jasdeep Singh 6-3, 7-5.
In the post-lunch session, matches continued and Bharat Dubey beat Narendra Tadigopula 6-0, 6-0, Rachit Rastogi beat Ashish Kumar Singh 6-4, 6-2, Avneet Narayan beat Sneha Behera 6-3, 6-0, and Hitesh Kumar beat Saif Iqbal 6-4, 6-3.
Pushpendra Sharma received a walkover against Vaibhav Tiwari, whereas Hasmat Ali beat Srikanth Kumar 6-4, 6-2, Swarandeep Singh Dhodi delivered a commanding performance in the tournament by defeating Abhishek Singh Verma 6-0, 6-0.
Chinmay Dev Chauhan, Rishi Yadav, Vansh Yadav, and Joy Das, all from Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday advanced to the main draw of the AITA Prize Money Tennis Tournament following victories in the final round of the qualifying matches. Additionally, two players from Haryana, along with one each from Maharashtra and Rajasthan, have secured their spots in the main draw.
The tournament, featuring a prize purse of Rs.100,000, is being organized by the SDS Tennis Academy at the La Martiniere Lawn Tennis Facility, located within the premises of La Martiniere College.
Trials to select the Lucknow District athletics team for the 24th UP State Junior Federation Athletics Championship, will be held at the KD Singh 'Babu' Stadium here on April 2 at 8:00 a.m. According to BR Varun, secretary of the Lucknow District Athletics Association, the trials will be conducted in the under-20 men's and women's categories. The State Junior Championship is scheduled to be held in Prayagraj on April 8 and 9, 2026....
