Three missing teenage girls traced to Delhi
VARANASI, Aug. 25 -- Three teenage girls, aged 13, 14 and 15, who went missing from a village in the Gadwar area on Saturday, have been found safe in Delhi, police said. The Gadwar police have left for Delhi to bring them back.
According to their families, the three friends had gone to a private school in Hathaudi on Saturday but did not return after classes. After an extensive search, their families lodged a missing complaint with the police, who launched a search operation.
During the investigation, CCTV footage from Ballia railway station showed the three girls, a police officer said.
Late on Sunday evening, one girl withdrew Rs.10,000 using her father's ATM card, which she had taken with her. After receiving a transaction alert, her father informed Gadwar SHO Hitesh Kumar. Using the ATM transaction as a lead, police traced the girls to Delhi. Ballia ASP contacted Delhi Police and requested that they be taken into safe custody.HTC...
