Three kids drown while bathing in Chandrawal river in Banda
KANPUR, June 16 -- Three children, including two siblings, and their cousin, drowned in the Chandrawal river on Monday while bathing after visiting a temple with their grandmother in Banda.
The deceased were identified as Ansh, 10, his sister Madhuri, 13, and their cousin Prateek, 13, all residents of Gaurikalan village under Jaspura police station area.
A fourth child, Rishabh 12, who remained on the riverbank, survived.
According to police, the grandmother, Hiramani, had taken the children to a temple. They later went into the river to bathe.
Divers retrieved the three kids from the water and rushed them to the Jaspura community health centre, where doctors declared them brought dead.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination while police have registered a report of accidental death....
