Three held for murder of RSS office-bearer's son in Kushinagar
GORAKHPUR, Aug. 31 -- Kushinagar district police on Saturday arrested three of the four accused for their alleged involvement in the murder of the son of a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office-bearer on Friday evening following a dispute over grazing of cattle in Kushinagar's Semra village under Kuberstan police station limits.Confirming the arrests, circle officer of Khadda in Kushinagar Dr Ajay Kumar Singh said a case of murder had been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and forensic experts had collected evidence from the crime scene. He further said the fourth accused was at large.Utkarsh Singh, 40, the younger son of Indrajit Singh, an RSS office-bearer in Kushinagar, was informed by someone that cattle were grazing in his field. The altercation began when Singh objected to cattle grazing in his field by one Kanhaiya Yadav which soon escalated into violence.
According to the police, the assailants-identified as Sachidanand Yadav, Srinivas Yadav, Devendra Yadav, and Gyan Yadav, all sons of Kanhaiya Yadav-attacked Singh with sharp weapons, sticks, and rods. Singh succumbed to his injuries on the spot, they added.
Meanwhile, tension gripped Semra village in Kushinagar district on Saturday morning after the mortal remains of Utkarsh Singh, who was body of Chhatriya Mahasabha district coordinator in Kushinagar, were brought home following the post-mortem examination.
Senior officials, including SP Santosh Kumar Mishra and the SDM, rushed to the spot and pacified the agitated crowd, assuring strict action against the culprits. A heavy police force has also been deployed in the area....
