LUCKNOW, Aug. 28 -- A thief allegedly bit off a mangalsutra from a woman's neck while she was offering prayers inside the sanctum sanctorum of Lucknow's Buddheshwar temple on Monday. The incident was captured on the temple's CCTV camera. The incident came to light after a video of the theft surfaced on social media on Wednesday. The footage purportedly shows the man moving close to the woman, wife of a private bank manager, amid devotees before allegedly biting through her mangalsutra and fleeing with it. Police said a complaint had been received at Para police station and an FIR was being registered under relevant sections. Investigators were examining CCTV footage and other evidence to identify the suspect. Efforts were underway to identify and arrest the accused, they added. "Based on the complaint received at Para police station, a case is being registered under relevant sections. CCTV footage and other evidence are being examined. The incident will be solved soon," Lucknow police said....
