PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 21 -- The protest by teacher recruitment aspirants at the designated protest site, All Saints Cathedral in Civil Lines, continued here for the 16th day. Students demanded that TGT-PGT recruitment in government aided secondary schools be conducted under the old rules and examination pattern. Yuva Manch state president Anil Singh has written to President Droupadi Murmu seeking intervention in the matter. The Gen Z Connect Yatra organized by Nyay Morcha also extended support to the protesting aspirants on Sunday. The yatra, which started from Chauri Chaura in Gorakhpur on August 20, reached Phaphamau on its 32nd day. Meanwhile, Vijay Bahadur, an aspirant from Sujanganj in Jaunpur district, died at a private hospital in Civil Lines on Saturday afternoon. Ashutosh Pandey of the Pratiyogi Chhatra Samiti, who is leading the protest, claimed that Bahadur died due to a brain haemorrhage. He was staying in the Salori area of Prayagraj while preparing for the teacher recruitment examination. Though he took part in the stir from time to time, his death was not linked to the protest, a person familiar with the matter said. His last rites were performed at Chhatnag Ghat in Jhunsi on Sunday....
