Temperatures likely to rise across UP by 5-7degC
LUCKNOW, June 15 -- The regional meteorological centre (RMC), Lucknow, forecast a return of hot, humid and sultry weather conditions across Uttar Pradesh, with temperatures expected to climb by 5 to 7degC over the coming week.
This shift follows a reduction in the recent spells of thunderstorms and rain that occurred across the state since Sunday, June 14.
The anticipated temperature rise is attributed to the interaction between a Western Disturbance centered near Haryana and moist easterly winds in the lower troposphere, which are feeding into a weather trough extending from central Pakistan to Bangladesh.
Despite the spike in temperatures, the likelihood of a heatwave remains low. Additionally, meteorological conditions are not currently favorable for the further advancement of the monsoon into Uttar Pradesh.
On Sunday, June 14, Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 38degC and a minimum of 26.6degC, a notable increase from the previous day's figures of 34.7degC and 21.3degC, respectively. The Monday forecast for the city indicates mainly clear skies, with temperatures expected to hover around a maximum of 39degC and a minimum of 27degC.
The state forecast suggests that rain and thundershowers are likely in isolated areas.
