Patna, Sept. 15 -- Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav's remarks of "contesting all 243 seats" in Bihar assembly polls fuelled speculations of rift within the Opposition INDIA bloc amid the crucial seat-sharing talks among the alliance partners, including the Congress and other Left parties. "Whether it is Kanti seat, Bochaha, Muzaffarpur or Minapur seat, understand that Tejashwi is contesting all 243 seats," Yadav said at an event in Muzaffarpur on Saturday. Among the four seats named by Yadav, Muzaffarpur is held by the Congress. While the RJD has been vocal about Yadav as their CM face, the Congress has maintained that the alliance was yet to take a call. However, both RJD and Congress denied any rift within the alliance. Chittaranjan Gagan, state RJD spokesperson, said Yadav's statement should be taken positively since RJD, being the biggest party in the alliance, has the responsibility to ensure the victory of all candidates of the Opposition bloc. "Tejashwi is our CM face and it is quite obvious, voters would be mobilised in his name. There is nothing wrong with it," he said. The Congress, however, said that the alliance is yet to decide on its CM face. Party leader Ashit Nath Tiwary said, "There is still confusion within the NDA over the CM face. Have they declared it? In the INDIA bloc, everything is sorted out," Tiwary said. Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said the Bihar polls presented his Hindustani Awami Morcha (Secular) (HAM-S) with a "do or die" situation for the party to gain the "recognised party" status as he reiterated his demand to contest 20 seats under the NDA. "We haven't set any such target yet. But it is true that it is a do-or-die situation for us... We will request the NDA to allocate enough seats so that our party gains recognition in the Vidhan Sabha," the former CM added....
