PRAYAGRAJ, July 20 -- A 15-year-old boy died after being struck by lightning while irrigating agricultural fields during rainfall in the Patti Kotwali area of Pratapgarh on Sunday morning. The deceased, Afsar Khan, a Class 9 student and a resident of Chandpur Chaumri village, went to irrigate the fields when lightning struck him, causing severe burn injuries. After hearing a loud sound, local residents rushed to the spot and found the teenager critically injured. He was taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Patti, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
