Teenage girl alleges indecent act at Soraon CHC, complaint filed
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 25 -- : A teenage girl who had visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Soraon for an X-ray on Monday accused a hospital staffer of misconduct and an indecent act. Police detained a hospital worker for questioning and launched an investigation.
According to the complaint, the girl, a resident of Pratapgarh district, had come to the CHC with her family for medical treatment. After examining her, a doctor advised an X-ray.
The girl alleged that after she entered the X-ray room, the staff member present asked her family members to step outside and locked the room from inside.
The complainant alleged that the X-ray technician then asked her to remove her clothes and acted inappropriately. When the girl raised an alarm, her family members rushed to the room, banged on the door and alerted the police. A police team reached the hospital and took the health worker to the police station for questioning. The victim later lodged a formal complaint at Soraon police station against four individuals, including the X-ray technician.
Station house officer Deendayal Singh said the chief medical officer (CMO) of Prayagraj had been informed about the matter and that an investigation was underway. He said further legal action would be taken based on the findings of the inquiry. Meanwhile, CHC superintendent Dr Deepak Tiwari said an outsider had allegedly been working in the X-ray room without his knowledge. "An outsider was working in the X-ray room at CHC Soraon without my knowledge. The entire matter will be investigated, and departmental action will be taken," Dr Tiwari said.htc...
