Teen suffers critical burns after setting himself ablaze following dispute in Vns
VARANASI, May 31 -- A 17-year-old boy suffered serious burn injuries after allegedly setting himself on fire following an argument with a young woman in Harsos village under the Jansa police station area on Friday.
Police said the boy, a resident of Rajapur village under Cholapur police station, was reportedly in a relationship with the woman.
He visited Harsos village when an argument broke out between them.
According to eyewitnesses, the boy became agitated during the dispute, poured petrol on himself and set himself ablaze. He was soon engulfed in flames, causing panic among those present.
Locals and family members extinguished the fire and rushed him to Kabirchaura divisional hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. His family said he suffered extensive burns and remains in critical condition.
Police said preliminary investigations suggest the incident was linked to a personal relationship. Further inquiry is underway, and action will be taken based on the findings....
