Lucknow, Aug. 26 -- A speeding SUV sporting a 'vidhayak' or MLA sticker and a flag symbolising a political party toppled after running over four bikes in Nigohan's Mastipur area of this district on Monday morning, police said. No major injuries were reported in the incident, they added. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was heading towards Rae Bareli from the Lucknow side when it lost control near an automobile service centre. Reportedly, the vehicle had suffered a breakdown after its steering bar snapped. "The vehicle rammed into four parked motorcycles and dragged them for nearly 50 metres before toppling," a local said. According to police, the car was being driven by one Karan Lodhi, who hails from Rae Bareli's Ghantaghar and was being accompanied by his friend Ramdulare. "The accident occurred after its steering rod snapped, causing it to go out of control," said station house officer (SHO), Nigohan police sation, Anuj Kumar Tiwari.
