STF nabs two for land fraud worth crores
Lucknow, Aug. 27 -- Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday busted a high-profile land fraud racket operating in the state capital. They arrested two individuals for duping unsuspecting buyers of crores of rupees by selling them plots using forged documents of Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and Avas Vikas Parishad.
"The arrested men have been identified as Amit Kumar of Nikhoda Majra village in Kaushambi and Mubeen Ahmad of Jankipuram in Lucknow," read an STF press note.

During the operation, an STF team intercepted the two on Shaheed Path and recovered forged Aadhaar cards, a fake driving licence, a PAN card, sets of sale deeds and agreement papers, two mobile phones, the SUV, and a walkie-talkie set from their possession.
"During interrogation, Amit Kumar confessed that he was previously jailed in similar cases registered at Sarojininagar and Vibhuti Khand police stations and was currently out on bail.
He also revealed that he often rented luxury cars to impress clients, while his associate Mubeen Ahmed assisted in arranging these vehicles and acted as a partner in the fraud, receiving a share of the cheated money.
