State mandates Permission for video creators at Char Dham
Mussoorie, June 22 -- Uttarakhand government has introduced fresh regulations for social media content creators, filmmakers, vloggers and influencers seeking to shoot videos or create digital content within the premises of the Char Dham shrines, making prior official permission mandatory.
The move aims to preserve the sanctity, security and religious decorum of the revered pilgrimage sites while ensuring that content creation activities do not disrupt devotees or misrepresent the shrines.
Under the new guidelines, all content creators intending to record videos, film documentaries or create social media reels at the Char Dham temples will be required to apply for permission through the Uttarakhand Film Development Council (UFDC) portal. Applicants must provide details such as their name, identification credentials, social media profile links, the nature and purpose of the proposed content, and the duration of the shoot.
