PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 11 -- A 48-year-old man died and three women traveling in an e-rickshaw were injured after a speeding loader collided with the e-rickshaw and then crushed a man sitting by the roadside in the Antu area of Pratapgarh on Tuesday. Near Sandwa Chandika Inter College, a speeding loader coming from the opposite direction hit the e-rickshaw, ran over 48-year-old Kamlesh Kumar of Bahera village, who was sitting on the roadside, and then crashed into a tree. According to reports, Jyoti Verma, 30, Pooja Verma, 27, and their relative Kanchan Verma, 35, residents of Bhawanipur under Antu police station limits in Pratapgarh, who were on their way to Sandwa Chandika, were in the e-rickshaw. All the occupants of the e-rickshaw, along with Kamlesh, sustained injuries in the accident. The loader driver fled the scene after the vehicle hit the tree. Antu police reached the spot and rushed the injured to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Sandwa Chandika. From there, Kamlesh Kumar and Kanchan Verma were referred to the medical college. Doctors at the medical college declared Kamlesh Kumar dead on arrival. Police have sent the body for postmortem, and efforts are underway to trace the absconding loader driver....
