SP leader sacked after woman alleges stalking
AGRA, Sept. 17 -- The Samajwadi Party (SP) removed its state general secretary of the minority wing, Rajan Rizvi, after a woman bank employee in Mathura accused him of sending objectionable messages, stalking her and repeatedly trying to contact her despite her objections.
Assistant superintendent of police (city), Mathura, Aashna Chaudhary said a case was registered against Rizvi at Kotwali police station on Tuesday on the bank employee's complaint under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act for transmitting obscene material in electronic form.
The woman also alleged that Rizvi was stalking her and conducting reconnaissance near her house.
"Police have taken cognisance of the matter and registered a case against the accused Rajan Rizvi. Required legal compliance is underway," Chaudhary said. htc...
