LUCKNOW, May 26 -- The Samajwadi Party has appointed new presidents in Shamli and Baghpat districts. Manoj Chaudhary has been appointed the SP's Baghpat unit chief while Chaudhary Surendra Singh Tana is the new SP chief for Shamli. Party's state unit chief Shyam Lal Pal confirmed the development. The move is seen as part of a larger exercise to strengthen the party's grassroots presence in the region. Both Baghpat and Shamli are politically significant districts with considerable influence of Gujjar and other agrarian communities, making these appointments strategically important for the party ahead of future electoral battles.
