Sonbhadra police rescue woman from suicide attempt with timely CPR
VARANASI, May 18 -- Sonbhadra police rescued a woman attempting suicide by hanging herself in a rented house in Chopan town during the intervening night of May 16 and May 17, saving her life by administering timely Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
The incident was reported immediately to UP-112 PRV vehicle number 1070. According to reports, the woman resides in the town with her husband. Following a domestic dispute, the woman locked herself inside a room and attempted to hang herself.
Upon receiving the information, head constable Narendra Kumar Patel and constable Sunil Kumar Gaur rushed to the scene. The police team peered through a window and observed the woman preparing to hang herself, making a noose out of a saree using the ceiling fan as an anchor. The officers attempted to persuade her to stop, but she continued with the attempt.
Without delay, the officers broke through the room's window, entered the room, and lowered the woman from the noose. At that moment, the woman had ceased breathing. Without wasting a single second, the police personnel immediately administered CPR, and her breathing resumed within a short time.
According to the attending physicians, the woman's life was saved precisely because she received CPR in a timely manner. A police officer said the woman's condition is currently stable and out of danger.htc...
