Smoke emanates from dy CM Pathak's plane before takeoff
Lucknow/Meerut, May 26 -- A government's chartered aircraft carrying deputy CM Brajesh Pathak developed a snag when smoke emanated from one side of its engine at Moradabad airport moments before takeoff on Monday evening, officials said.
Pathak and members of his team were inside the Beechcraft Super King Air B-200 aircraft. Airport authorities responded immediately and the aircraft was stopped before entering the runway. Pathak and his entourage were safely deboarded.
The incident occurred around 4:10 pm when the pilot started the aircraft's engines.
The deputy CM told HT over phone: "During takeoff preparations, smoke started coming out of one engine following which the plane was immediately stopped and I was safely deboarded." Pathak later left for Lucknow by road, officials said.Nikhil Tikaram Funde, director, civil aviation, said a team of engineers from Lucknow had left for Moradabad to inspect the aircraft.
