LUCKNOW, Aug. 25 -- A 12-year-old boy drowned in a pond at the Surya Kund temple in Akbarpur village, under the Laharpur Kotwali area of Sitapur district, on Monday. The boy, Keshu, a resident of Shadipur village, had reached the temple with his father, Anoop Kumar Awasthi. The family planned to collect water from the pond and carry it in a Kanwar to Gaurishankar temple in Fatehpur. Before collecting the water, the children entered the pond to bathe. The children informed his father, following which family members and local residents began searching the pond. Police reached the spot and launched a search with the help of local divers.
