Dehradun, Sept. 9 -- Election Commission of India (ECI) has received 319,309 claims and objections across the 13 districts of Uttarakhand during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026), with Udham Singh Nagar district receiving 43,878 applications-- the highest number of Form-7 objections and requests for deletion of names from the electoral roll, according to district-wise data. Haridwar ranked second with 29,369 Form-7 applications, followed by Dehradun with 19,402 and Nainital with 18,301. Together, the four districts accounted for 110,950 objections and deletion requests. Udham Singh Nagar alone accounted for nearly 40% of the applications recorded across these four districts. The month-long window for filing submissions, which ran from July 14 to August 13, 2026, saw the highest public participation from these plain districts of Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. A total of 319,309 claims and objections were filed across Uttarakhand under the SIR-2026 exercise between July 14 and August 13, 2026, according to official figures. The overall submissions comprised 137,146 applications under Form 6 for inclusion of names, 130,382 objections and deletion requests under Form 7, and 51,781 applications under Form 8 for corrections and shifting of entries. A district-wise breakdown of the submissions, ranked from maximum to minimum by overall volume, revealed Dehradun emerging at the top with the highest total of 75,337 forms, which included 42,773 Form 6 filings, 19,402 Form 7 objections and 13,162 Form 8 requests. Haridwar took the second spot with a total of 68,350 forms, comprising 28,695 under Form 629,369 under Form 7, and 10,286 under Form 8. Udham Singh Nagar ranked third with 63,042 applications, accounting for 11,927 Form 6 submissions, a state-high 43,878 Form 7 objections, and 7,237 Form 8 filings. Nainital stood fourth with 38,691 forms, including 13,804 under Form 6, 18,301 under Form 7 and 6,586 under Form 8. Pauri Garhwal was placed fifth after receiving 15,116 forms, made up of 6,958 Form 6 claims, 5,424 Form 7 objections and 2,734 Form 8 requests. Almora followed in sixth position with 11,804 submissions, consisting of 6,257 under Form 62,999 under Form 7, and 2,548 under Form 8. Pithoragarh ranked seventh with a tally of 9,169 forms, comprising 4,810 Form 6 filings, 3,044 Form 7 objections and 1,315 Form 8 applications. Chamoli secured eighth place with 8,855 total submissions, which included 5,057 under Form 61,702 under Form 7 and 2,096 under Form 8. Tehri Garhwal stood ninth with 7,715 claims and objections, made up of 4,422 Form 6 submissions, 1,431 Form 7 objections and 1,862 Form 8 requests. Bageshwar followed in tenth spot with 7,260 forms, consisting of 5,166 under Form 6, 618 under Form 7 and 1,476 under Form 8. Champawat ranked eleventh after registering 6,419 forms, which comprised 3,616 Form 6 filings, 1,723 Form 7 objections and 1,080 Form 8 applications. Uttarkashi stood twelfth with 4,534 forms, including 1,786 under Form 6, 2,109 under Form 7 and 639 under Form 8. Rudraprayag recorded the lowest total across the state, ranking thirteenth with 3,017 filings, which included 1,875 under Form 6, 382 under Form 7 and 760 under Form 8. ECI also extended the deadline for the final publication of the electoral roll in Uttarakhand under the SIR exercise to October 3, chief electoral officer Dr BVRC Purushottam said on Monday.
