LUCKNOW, Aug. 27 -- Former India Under-19 batter at the Youth World Cup, Adarsh Singh on Tuesday struck his second hundred in the UPTwenty20 League to help last year's runner-up Kanpur Superstars notch up their second win in the tournament after five consecutive defeats, outplaying Kashi Rudras by 128 runs, biggest by any team in this season of the event.. Left-hander Adarsh smacked an unbeaten 113 in just 54 balls with the help of five boundaries and 12 sixes all around the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium to guide Kanpur Superstars pile up 198/3 after being sent to bat first. In reply, Kashi Rudras could score 70 in 15 overs. After losing skipper Sameer Rizvi (29, 24b, 2x4, 2x6) in 12.4 overs with the scoreboard reading 85/3, such a big score looked almost difficult at one stage. But Adarsh didn't lose his heart and went on hitting kashi Rudra bowlers, including Atal Bihari Rai, Shiva Singh and Rishabh Rajput, who conceded above 10 runs per over. In fact, Kanpur Superstars lost first two wickets within the powerplay at 28, but thereafter, Adarsh along with Sameer added 57 runs for the third wicket. But thereafter, both Adarsh and Faiz Ahmed kept the scoreboard ticking on at a brisk pace as the two added an unbeaten 113 runs for the fourth wicket. Faiz played a perfect second fiddle, scoring 15-ball 22 with the help of three boundaries. Later, Kashi Rudras never got the going easy as even after making eight runs in the first over, they kept losing wickets on regular intervals with skipper and opener k sharma getting out on duck. Yashovardhan Singh (24), Uvais Ahmad (13) and Deepak Rna (12) were the batters, who could cross the double-figure mark. Full marks to Kanpur Superstars bowlers as Shubham Mishra finished with a five-wicket haul, conceding just six runs in his three overs. Ankur Sharma took 2/23, whereas Vineet Panwar and Aquib Khan shared two wickets between them. In the first game of the day, local outfits Lucknow Falcons sealed their third win when they eased to a seven-wicket victory over Noida Kings. Played under heavy overhead conditions, the bowlers had a field day. In a low-scoring match, however, it looked like Noida Kings fell short of setting a challenging score after Lucknow Falcons had invited them to bat first at the toss. Chasing 140 for a win, the Falcons had some trouble early in their innings but kept their wits - and their wickets - about them to ease to the total thanks to some solid middle-order batting. The quick pace of Naman Tiwari accounted for the early wicket of Aaradhya Yadav but that was the only success Noida had in the first half of the Falcons innings. By the time Samarth Singh and Priyam Garg fell in quick succession in the 13th and 14th over, their target had shrunk to 41 at less than a run-a-ball. Mohammad Saif smashed a few lusty blows to get Lucknow over the line....
