Barmer/Beawar, Aug. 28 -- A 10-year-old girl and his eight-year-old brother drowned in a pond in Bhikha Nada in Beawar district, police said on Thursday. According to Ras SHO Pannalal Saini, Rina (10) and her younger brother Rahul (8), residents of Roopnagar, were grazing goats near Bhikha Nada when Rahul slipped while standing near the edge of the pond and fell into the deep water. Seeing her brother drowning, Rina immediately jumped into the pond to rescue him. However, she was unable to pull him out, and both drowned, police said.
