Showers bring drop in max temperature, more in store
LUCKNOW, March 28 -- There is a possibility of renewed rainfall in the state from March 29 to April 1 due to an upcoming Western Disturbance. Under the influence of the current Western Disturbance, light rainfall accompanied by drizzle occurred across the state, resulting in an average drop of 3 to 6degC in maximum temperatures at several locations.
However, as the influence of this system subsides, maximum temperatures are expected to rise by a similar margin during March 28 and 29. Subsequently, under the impact of the upcoming Western Disturbance, a fresh decline of 3 to 6degC is anticipated.
The fresh spell of rainfall is likely to commence across the state from the late evening or night of March 29 and is expected to persist until the end of the month. Meanwhile, Lucknow experienced 2.6 mm rainfall till 5:30 pm on Friday. As a result, the day temperature dropped to 30.6deg C and minimum temperature rose to 22.1deg C. The day before it was 36 and 18deg C. The forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy sky becoming mainly clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 33 and 18deg C, respectively.
Prayagraj remained hottest at 38.6deg C, Jhansi 37.7, Varanasi BHU 37.3, Hamirpur 37.2 and Ghazipur 37deg C.Between March 1 to 27, UP received 7.4 mm rain against normal 9.4 mm, a deficit of 6%. Balrampur received 707% excess rain during this period. The district received 33.1 mm rain against normal 4.1 mm. Barabanki received 28.4 mm rainfall, against normal 7.7 mm, an excess of 269%. Gonda experienced 15.8 mm rain against a normal of 5.1 mm, an excess by 210%....
